Overview

Why these claims fail, and how ours don't.

A PF withdrawal can be a final settlement after leaving employment or a partial advance for purposes such as medical treatment, housing, marriage or education. Each has its own eligibility conditions, and most rejections come from mismatched records rather than ineligibility.

Common reasons claims are returned

  • Name, date of birth or father’s name differing between EPFO, Aadhaar and PAN
  • Date of exit not marked by the employer
  • Bank account not seeded or verified
  • Service under an older member ID not linked to the UAN

How we help

We check the passbook, KYC and service record, correct what is needed, then prepare the right claim form (Form 19 for PF, Form 10C for pension where applicable, Form 31 for advances) and follow it through.

Tax

Withdrawals before five years of continuous service can attract TDS in some cases; we explain whether this applies to you before you file.

To discuss your matter, book a consultation.

Final settlement after leaving a jobForm 19 for the provident fund balance, filed once you have been out of covered employment for the qualifying period.
  2. 02

  3. 03
Partial advance while still employedForm 31 for housing, medical treatment, marriage, education and other permitted purposes, each with its own limits.
  4. 04

TDS you would rather not payWithdrawals before five years of continuous service can attract TDS. Merging earlier service, or a valid Form 15G/15H, can change that.
Before you file

Readiness and documents.

Missing one of these is the most common reason a claim stalls. We check them all in the consultation.

How we handle it

Four stages, one accountable adviser.

The scope and fee are agreed in writing before any work begins.

Record review

We read your passbook, service history and KYC status and confirm which forms apply.

Stage II

Corrections first

Any mismatch is fixed before filing, through the member portal or the employer.

Stage III

Claim filed

Forms are filed in the right order, with tax treatment settled in advance.

Stage IV

Tracked to credit

We follow the claim at the regional office until the money reaches your account.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong.

We see these mistakes repeatedly. Each one adds weeks, and some reset the claim entirely.

Pitfalls we prevent

  • Filing Form 19 while an earlier PF account is still unmerged
  • Claiming EPS withdrawal when the service already exceeds ten years
  • Bank account seeded but cheque image unreadable or name abbreviated
  • Withdrawing before five years of service without checking whether earlier service counts

Questions

Frequently asked.

If your question is not covered here, raise it in the consultation.

EPF rules allow a partial withdrawal after one month without employment and full settlement after two months. If you join a new employer, transferring the balance is usually the better choice.

TDS applies if you withdraw before completing five years of continuous service and the amount crosses the threshold. Service with earlier employers counts toward the five years once those accounts are transferred.

Only if you have less than ten years of pensionable service and do not plan to stay in covered employment. Once withdrawn, that service no longer counts toward a pension.

Not as a final settlement, but advances are allowed for specific purposes, each with its own eligibility and limits.
