PF Transfer & Multiple UANs

One career, one PF history.

Every job change leaves a balance behind unless it is transferred. We trace old accounts, merge duplicate UANs and move your full service history into one place, so your interest, pension service and tax position stay intact.

Overview

Why these claims fail, and how ours don't.

When you change jobs, the balance with your previous employer should move to your current account. If it does not, your service history is split, which can affect tax treatment and pension eligibility.

Typical problems

  • More than one UAN issued to the same person
  • Previous member ID not linked
  • Transfer stuck pending employer approval
  • Differences in personal details between the two accounts

How we help

We map every member ID you have held, resolve duplicates, and prepare the transfer (Form 13) so the full history is recognised.

To discuss your matter, book a consultation.

Where we help

Situations we handle.

If yours is not listed, describe it in the enquiry form. We will tell you plainly whether we can help.

  1. 01
Two or more UANs in your nameThe older account must be linked to the current UAN and its balance transferred, otherwise each one is treated as separate service.
  2. 02
Balance stuck with a former employerA previous employer that never recorded your exit or has since closed down.
  3. 03
Transfer approved but the money never arrivedThe claim settled at one office but was never credited at the other, usually when two regional offices are involved.
  4. 04
Exempted trust to EPFO, or the reversePrivate PF trusts follow their own procedures and timelines, and the transfer has to be pursued with the trust as well.
  5. 05
Pension service missing after a transferThe PF balance arrived but the EPS service did not, which leaves the scheme certificate short.
Before you file

Readiness and documents.

Missing one of these is the most common reason a claim stalls. We check them all in the consultation.

Eligibility checklist

What must be in order

  • Exit date recorded for the previous employment
  • Same name, date of birth and father’s or spouse’s name on both accounts
  • Current UAN activated and KYC approved
  • Bank and Aadhaar seeded on the current UAN
  • Previous member ID or establishment details known
Documents

What to keep ready

  • All UANs and member IDs you have held
  • Appointment or relieving letters showing dates
  • Payslips showing PF deductions, where available
  • Aadhaar and PAN
  • Any earlier transfer claim reference

We never ask for your UAN password or OTPs by message or email. Any portal step happens with you in a live session, and you stay in control.

How we handle it

Four stages, one accountable adviser.

The scope and fee are agreed in writing before any work begins.

Stage I

Account tracing

We list every member ID linked to you and identify missing or duplicate records.

Stage II

Record alignment

Personal details are made consistent across accounts before any transfer is requested.

Stage III

Form 13 transfer

The transfer is filed and routed to the correct employer or office for attestation.

Stage IV

Credit verified

We confirm the balance and the service history, including EPS, in the new account.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong.

We see these mistakes repeatedly. Each one adds weeks, and some reset the claim entirely.

Pitfalls we prevent

  • Transferring PF while the EPS service is left behind
  • Requesting a transfer while the old exit date is still blank
  • Withdrawing an old balance and breaking continuous service
  • Raising duplicate transfer requests that block each other

What we do · what you do

  • We: Trace old member IDs and duplicate UANs

Questions

Frequently asked.

If your question is not covered here, raise it in the consultation.

Yes. Each UAN is treated as separate service until the old one is linked and transferred. That can affect tax on a later withdrawal and the pension service counted.

Usually, yes. The route depends on whether the exit date was ever recorded and on what the regional office holds. We work out which applies in the consultation.

It should. Check the scheme certificate or the passbook after the transfer, because the EPS service is sometimes left behind.

Simple transfers within one office are quick. Transfers between offices or involving private trusts take longer, and we give you a realistic estimate for your case.
