NRI PF Withdrawal

Withdraw your Indian PF from wherever you live.

Members abroad face problems that residents never meet: an Indian mobile that lapsed, a savings account that should now be NRO, tax deducted at a different rate and a nine-hour time difference. We handle the India side end to end, over video and email.

Independent of EPFONo OTPs or passwords requestedHandled remotely
Overview

Why these claims fail, and how ours don't.

Members who now live abroad can usually settle their Indian PF remotely, provided their KYC and bank details are in order.

Things to check

  • Aadhaar and bank account seeded to the UAN
  • An Indian bank account (often an NRO account) in your name
  • Your exit date recorded by your last employer

Where we help

Situations we handle.

If yours is not listed, describe it in the enquiry form. We will tell you plainly whether we can help.

  1. 01
Indian mobile number no longer activeAadhaar-based OTPs go to that number. We plan the safest way to update it or to work without it.
  2. 02
Resident savings account not convertedFunds should go into an account that matches your residential status, normally an NRO account.
  3. 03
Higher TDS than expectedNRI withdrawals are taxed under a different section, and Form 15G does not apply. A Tax Residency Certificate may reduce the rate under the treaty.
  4. 04
Working in a social security agreement countrySome members are covered as international workers and follow separate rules.
  5. 05
Claims rejected while you were abroadRejections are harder to fix from another time zone. We take over the follow-up.
Before you file

Readiness and documents.

Missing one of these is the most common reason a claim stalls. We check them all in the consultation.

How we handle it

Four stages, one accountable adviser.

The scope and fee are agreed in writing before any work begins.

We review your UAN in a live session at a time that suits your time zone.

Stage II

India-side preparation

Bank, KYC and tax paperwork are prepared and corrected where needed.

Stage III

Claim and follow-up

Claims are filed, and we handle all contact with the employer and the regional office.

Stage IV

Funds and repatriation

Money lands in your Indian account. We explain the steps to move it abroad.

Common mistakes

What usually goes wrong.

We see these mistakes repeatedly. Each one adds weeks, and some reset the claim entirely.

Pitfalls we prevent

  • Filing to a resident savings account after becoming non-resident
  • Submitting Form 15G, which is not available to non-residents
  • Losing access to the Aadhaar-linked mobile midway through a claim
  • Ignoring tax treatment in the country where you now live

What we do · what you do

  • We: Plan the OTP and mobile-number route
  • We: Prepare bank and tax paperwork
  • We: File the claims and handle every follow-up
  • We: Send updates in your time zone
  • You: Keep your NRO account active
  • You: Obtain a Tax Residency Certificate if you want treaty relief
  • You: Be available for a short live session for OTPs

Questions

Frequently asked.

If your question is not covered here, raise it in the consultation.

No. Everything we do is remote. A few members need an attested document from abroad, and we explain how to get it locally.

EPFO pays into an Indian account. From an NRO account, funds can be sent abroad within the limits and documentation the bank requires.

It depends on your length of service and whether you claim treaty relief. We estimate it in the consultation, before you file.

Yes. Each country guide covers what members living there should check first.
